What's the difference between standard shingles and class 4 shingles?

Will my existing asphalt roof be completely removed or is there going to be an overlay?
No overlays. Your current roof will be completely torn down to the decking. An entirely new system will be placed. A sound roofing underlayment is the most important part of the placement. Complete waterproofing is essential to the integrity of the roof. Replacement of damaged decking as needed.
